A Beautiful Place
A Beautiful Place
By: Michael Toledo
A beautiful place I’ve been is at Antelope Lookout.
As I look at the bright beautiful sunset in the reservation
I see the bright orange sun go down.
I hear the chirping and the laughter of
moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
I taste and smell the scented air
And great food my Aunts make.
I see the dogs barking as a rabbit runs by me
To get to its mother as I walk up the mesa.
The juniper tree sits
As the birds live upon the barren dessert.
As I hunt for a rabbit like a chipmunk trying to find its nuts.
