A Bond That Lasts for Eternity

A Bond That Last for Eternity

by Yandel Cancel

I’m trapped in a dark room

With the broken toys of my past,

This was my life and the battle,

The battle that started when my dad left my family,

And continued when I find that my dad did horrible things,

Went drunk driving,

Went to work drunk,

But yet I still love him,

Never forgetting the cons,

But always savoring the pros,

For the time I get to spend with him,

The time I can get to know him,

I savor every last bit of time with him,

Knowing that he was gone for 10 years of my life,

No calls,

No text,

No Emails,

No contact at all,

But in a way,

This little battle of mine has made a bond,

A bond that can never be broken,

A bond that lasts for eternity.
