Brother

What is the definition of brother?

My brother may have a shell,

at times, he may shine so bright like star light.

My brother may never back down in danger.

There comes a time when he may have to leave,

but, he looks back,

and stares and compares

the past and future.

Every brother has

a job for the sisters,

protect, prepare, proceed, and predict.

When he comes, he sits there and hugs me,

I hear the ba-boom, ba-boom in his head and heart.

Some day he will look back and say,

“This is my sister, and I am proud,

she will grow up to be a unique and strong woman.”

He will stand up and look up at the sky

and scream out, “I will be myself!”
