Family Heritage

Great grandad
traveled by sea,
to America
he sought to be free

After years of what seemed like prison
he finally
became a citizen

My dads family is of
Navajo
Spanish
& French

This I have learned sitting on the bench
My mom is of Navajo and Mexican
mind-boggling
I take in all I can

As a joke
I  am told
If i have a nose bleed
the blood that runs free

Will be the last
of the French and Mexican
in me
