Hawaii

Hawaii

by Ileans Prado-Domingo

No snowmen and snowflakes.

No Disneyland.

Only heat waves and once in a blue moon it rains.

There is no wheat fields.

There are no gold mines.

There is only taro patches and pineapple fields.

No snakes, squirrels, or bears.

No foxes or raccoons.

Only wild pigs, Myna birds, and mongoose.

There are no Trader Joes or Olive Garden.

There are no In-N-Out.

There are only Zippys, L&L and Shiros.

No roads to get here.

No suspension bridge.

Only beaches and active volcanoes.
