Houston:  The city of sparkling lights

The city of opportunity for optimistic families
The city of mouth watery food
The city of culture like an endless rainbow

The city of firecrackers that are actually gunshots
The city of wailing police sirens and dogs that howl in despair
The city of trash littered sidewalks and groups that hang on corners
Showing pride for the color of their shirt or bandana

Houston: The city that truly never sleeps
The city where everyone speaks a Nile river of languages and knowledge
The city that’s the energy capital of the world
The city that’s vibrant from dusk till dawn
