I Am Black

I Am Black

by Jayla Jackson

I’m black

I’m talented

I’m gorgeous

I’m a human being

I have feelings

I can love

I have fear

I have fear of my race

I am black

Black men and women

Are being treated badly

We are black.

We are humans.

They bully us because of

hair color, hair texture, skin color

I want the world to be equal

Making it exciting in many ways.

I want to make things right

My color doesn’t mean a thing.

I am going to change the world

Make all races equal

I am black

I am capable of big things.
