mexican, proud

Mexican

When I look at myself at the mirror

I think of being the Mexican

I am and having the same rights

As Americans

I was lucky to be born in this time

Because segregation has ended

Now if segregation didn’t ended then I would

Nbe like a dog with a bad owner

And each time

I tried to escape or even

He’s for my freedom

Then my owner would punish me with a whip

Each time I lay down

I would feel that

Cold red blood

Flowing on my fur

My brothers and sisters in the

United States would fail to get their freedom and feel my untamed

Pain

Now if I was an American

I don’t want to feel all that pain

Instead

I want to breath

The air of rights and freedom
