Money Isn’t Everything

Money Isn’t Everything
By: Darius Jones

My family told me that money isn’t everything

We stand on the block and get it the wrong way

The wrong is taking lives

Taking the unowned

And doing whatever it takes to make a sale

When we hustle this way

We will become someone’s toy

Behind bars

Living in jail

Money isn’t everything for someone

To read your obituary and visit your grave

When you can sit and listen to your professor

get a job and get paid

You’re sitting and taking note

To develop your life career

Because it’s pointless to do wrong

For money and not be here

On Earth

You are a clown the day money becomes your life

When money overwhelms your body

You want it to come as fast as roadrunner speedin down the street

But the first thing that comes to mind is to kill, steal, and mistreat

Material things such as money, cars, clothes, and jewelry can be replaced in spite

Some things are replaced but you only get one life.
