My Family Is From Jalisco Mexico

My Family

By Arleth Romo – Rodriguez

My family is from Jalisco Mexico

where our mother stands and makes

us stronger and makes us brave with

our light brown skin as well as a

dark chocolate color my great great

great grandfather worked on farms

as well as my grandpas and grandmas

and where my parents first began to work

at a young age, 5 de Mayo parties every

where and then Jesus birthday is

celebrated by US Mexicanos who

share their pride the belief of

la llorona and El Coro where all kids

cry and soon share that story their

parents told, when someone tells me

I don’t belong here to go back where

I came from and when they ask

me why I jumped the boarder breaks

me down but I pray and tell to

La Guadalupe she gives me power

and makes me strong every day us

Mexicanos life our chins up even if

it hurts and you want to go back

to dem farm fields so listen to me

you may be from the USA but we

know once of a life time we been

called names but no matter what

happens I deserve to be here with

my family and be proud of being

Mexicano because ain’t nothing goin

to stop me and my fam bein here

and celebrating what we do go ahead

call us names cuz you think you’re making us weaker

you’re actually making us stronger

and oh yeah get ur ears ready

I was born in the USA so it

make me a Latina Bruh!
