My Grandma

My Grandma

by Kainoa Ignacio

She always made delicious meals

So good, I could eat for days

I’d always stand by her heels

Until I was off in a haze

She’d put me off to bed

And wake me up in the morning

Carry me in her arms

When the rain came pouring

It was hard to say good-bye

But she always came to visit

When visiting time came by

I was sure not to miss it

There will be hard times

This I guarantee

But we look forward to the good times

The ones we can’t wait to see.
