Neglection

You said you were my dad,
but you left me in the rain.

You left me with a heart,
filled with hurt, sorrow, and pain.

I loved you and I trusted you,
but you kicked me in the dirt.

Now I’m talking to my friends,
asking them why does it hurt.

Sometimes I wonder how could it be,
to be someone’s dad and then up and leave.

I pray to God one day you’ll know,
that you should have never left out the door.
