No Trust

No Trust

by Thomas Caldwell

Don’t trust no one.

If you do,

Keep it to a limit.

Sideburns, if you trust them too much,

They’ll use you,

They’ll set you up,

They’ll make you do bad things,

They’ll use you for your money.

Honey, they’ll back stab you

When you’re least expecting

It’ll make you cry,

It’ll hurt you,

It’ll embarrass you.

Papa, that person you trust acts different.

They’ll stop calling,

They’ll disappear,

Like basketball season

It’s over too soon.
