Perfect Imperfection
by David Barziza
I am a perfect imperfection
I am a grenade
I am the monster under your bed
I am the double scoop, rocky road, coconut shaving topped, waffle cone at marble stone ice cream
For when you pull the pin you get a few second of unrivaled bliss
with anxious thoughts of what might happen
then i shake your very foundation
blow you away
forcing you to run in fear bearing the scars i leave upon you
if i didn’t kill you
but before you met me
you were happy
content
you take a second peak and i appear
i make you shiver at the thought of me
me revealing my self to you
I force your mind to race
with fear
But I’m a flashy guy
you take a bite and you love every second of it
you want more and more and more and more and more
thats when i strike
I make you freeze in pain
I make you evaluate taking another bite
you bite
they always do
this time with caution
but I’m so damn tasty
you for a split second
trade that caution for trust
I strike again
and this time
the only one to blame
is you
