Place I wish to Escape

“Place I wish to escape”

By: Amyah Ward

I live in a twisted town

Like no other

You can see many things at once.

On Main Street,

You see a happy family playing

In the yard,

Then

Turn around,

On Foy Drive, see a

Criminal getting chased by the

Cops.

I just try to imagine a

Sunny meadow,

Filled with daisies,

But just as I slip into this

TERRIFYING DAYDREAM,

I hear gunshots

Just up Main Street.

I try not to think about it in a

Bad way,

But if you lived in my

Home-town,

This way you would have to

Say.
