Just for Me

I’m not here to please you

   im here to please me

I don’t awake for you

   I  awake for me.

  I never fall asleep

to the thought of you.

I don’t worry about your

   negative opinions.

   I may dress pretty

or make my hair all nice

          sometimes

     but I do it for me.

      I paint my nails

       I color my hair

          just for me.

        From now on

    you won’t limit my

          happiness.

You have no control over

                me.

       I’m confident

     in my own skin

& nothing you say or do

      will change me.

I’m not here to please you

   I’m here to please me.
