Scars To Rules

He moisturizes his scars
The ones he tells me about
When he was little and used to run around
Accidentally broke something
Gave a dirty look
He knew what was coming
A bad and horrid scene
A belt flashes between his eyes
Right before it lashes out on his back
Crazy thoughts run through his head
But one stills stands out
The one rule he still follows
That is,
I will never harm my kids
And he knows when he takes his belt off,
It belongs in the draw
He knows it is for his waist
He knows it is for fashion,
It is not to to put a mark on his kids past,
Not even a bloody mark on his kids backs.
