Second Home
No lurid city lights
No booming vivacious echoes
Only my beachy hair comprehensive against my tanned features
Take me back to my second home
My heartening towel cloaks around my shivering body like a blanket to a newborn
The scent of my savory honey scented ice-cream cone envelops the air
Hospitable strangers smiling as I pass as if we were associates
Take me back to my second home
No zooming cars racing in the withering winds
No dandelions that are compulsory to wilt under the burning sun
Only stunning waves crashing against the sandy shore
Take me back to my second home
Family; cousins, sister’s, aunts, uncles
We laugh around the beaming campfire
My marshmallow tender; collapsing onto the heated gram cracker
I take one bite hearing the satisfying crunch
Take me back to my second home.
Take me back to my second home
Take me back where the grass is greener
Take me back where the smiles are brighter
Take me back where the kind is kinder
Take me back to my second home.
