Grandparents You wouldn't be here without them For those who don't know what I'm talking…
She Dreams of Running in the Bushes with Me
She Dreams of Running in the Bushes with Me
by Savanna Larvingo
(Navajo Nation, Crownpoint, NM)
When my sister sleeps
she dreams of being on earth again
as happy she would be.
She dreams of running
in the bushes with me.
Dreaming of our dad
and her mom
of how happy they would have been
to see her in bed, safe
and sound asleep
in real life again.
If only that drunk driver
didn’t drive that truck
he drove
when he was drunk.
She dreams of bushes
like bushes of oceans
that can go for miles and miles
that flow with the wind.
But when my sister wakes up,
she is safe in home,
a place called Heaven.
