Sky Lactaoen’s Poem

NEW ZEALAND

By: Sky Lactaoen

From sandy beaches to rugged wild coastlines

Is where the rubbing of noses is a simple hand shake

This is where never ending green hills roll

For I wish to be there but sadly, I am some place else where.

Where the wind blows frigid but the sun provides warmth

Is where people reply in a accent not as mine

This is where my old friends stay and memories are stained

For I wish to be there but sadly I am some place else where.

Where sheep outnumber the grains of sand

Is where cattle roam the vast plains

This is New Zealand my true home

Even though I am some place else where

My heart is still, truly there
