The Invinsible Old Lady

The Invisible Old Lady

by Andrea Bocanegra

There is an old lady

One who lives right in front of my house

She is sweet as an angel

Only thing non angelic about her

Is her addiction to

Cigarettes

No ones notices she’s there

They turn their backs as if she

Were invisible

She’s spends her days lonely

In that little old house of hers

As the flowers she waters everyday

Dance in the wind

It is only once in a while

When she leaves her house

But those are only sad trips

To hospitals

On the day of my birthday

Instead of a gift  she wrote me a letter

And in the letter read words that

Made me change the way I view my life

She saw the way my family showed me their love

It was something that

She has not had in a long time

She rememebers it being heaven when she

Had her family close to her

I could not believe someone who

I did not talk to much or seen around

Would write me such a beautiful letter

It nearly had me in tears

She’s lonely but such a kind

And caring old lady
