The Life He Lives

by Markiese Jamar Boykin

screams & debates,

love that is fake,

the pain has too much weight,

the child fears that there life might be at stake,

still no one listens & no one cares.

love that is not real,

a house full of terror & fear,

a prison is what this is,

bondage is what he lives,

still no one listens & no one cares.

is this his fate?

is this hell?

luckily he lived long enough to show & tell,

of his tragic ending and happy beginning.
