The Old Man

The Old Man

by Leialoha Bugarin

The old man I don’t really know

But I want to know

The old man who I see in pictures

But I want to see in person, one more time

The old man who I once always saw

But now I don’t remember much

The old man who cared for me

But I couldn’t do the same

The old man who was wise

And I, so young, didn’t know a thing

The old man who loved me

And I loved him back

The old man who is now gone

But I wish he were still here

That old man is my grandpa
