This Land is My Land, Not Just Yours

This Land is My Land, Not just Yours.

by Sadey Alip

Stand my ground as the wind pushes against me.
I can feel its bitter cold seep into my bones.
Chilling me from my head to my soul.
Jotting me awake.
She cries on me

This is where I make my stand.
Where I make a difference for my people.
My Mountain, My Mauna
I protect.
My ancestors never destroyed one thing that would make another prosper.

No!

You may not take what is not yours.
Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono.
The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.
But this is not right
