THOSE TEARS

THOSE TEARS
by James Meaole

She used to wake me up to the sweet smell of bacon and eggs
Then tucked me into bed at night
She would also go into my brother and sisters room and turn on their nightlight
thats what she used to do when she was with my dad
all the memories now just make me sad
I only see her on the weekend
and when I get there I only play with my friend

Then one day
I didn’t bother to go outside and play
I made her breakfast in bed then turned on our favorite movie Red
When the gunfire sound was going on she was singing a song
then she looked at me
Then said
son even though we’re far apart
I will always love you with all my heart

When I heard her say those words
It sounded like heaven birds
I cried into her shoulder
all my tears were heavy like a boulder
I was speechless
and my tears made a big mess
I flooded our room it made our bed like a raft
After a while I started to laugh.

She told me sweetie go and play
and have fun today
I said no I wont go
Than she said shes moving to another island
than my tears started to grow and grow
I made the house overflow.
