I always try my best to do the right thing
I am a young black man. I am a human being.

I make many mistakes to be honest and real.
Not a black stereotype who was born and ready to kill.

I am the one who will take the stage and yell out loud.
I am a young black man. I am black and I’m proud!

Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin
The two young black men killed and left millions marching

I am taking over. I’m not taking no for an answer
I need to be the one who has everyone put they hands up.

We need to take a stand
When a cop shoots down a young black man

Hop out of our seats
When the police does an illegal raid and has over 5 million black men beat.

We need to do this, we need to make a change
Get all of our people out of jail and out of their cage

For me to do it we all need to pitch in and stop being independent
We’re all in this together, we’re in it to win it.

We can do this. Yes we can
I just need us all to be willing to make a stand.
