When My Auntie Dreams

When My Auntie Dreams
by Danielle Silversmith

She dreams of having a baby,
To spend every single second
with Varsity or Camron
To spend all her money on,
clothes that are twice as small on her
To buy baby food then,
to buy food for herself
To care about them,
then not to care at all
To protect them,
then to protect herself
To love them more than
her parents loved her
To wash a tiny little human then,
to wash a dog
To say I love you then
to say nothing at all
But, when my auntie wakes up
She realizes that it was only just a dream,
and wishes that her dream could come true.
