Where You Were From And Today

Where You Were From And Today
by Nhia Her

We once live there,
across the green ocean.
Where I was born,
in the muddy land.
Everyday is work day.
Parents. Children. Elders.
Each held a hoe.
Working days and nights like a sleepless vampire,
for my future tomorrow.

Here today. New world.
The shiny golden key in front of me,
happily, enjoy,
waiting for everyone.
You have to push for it,
like a snail slowly travel across the road.
Doesn’t matter you are yellow skin,
We can make a difference.
