In 1750 before our country’s new mourne into slavery young Peter Salem was born.

He worked most his youth and that is the truth. He was a good man an’

His master let him go to fight in the war and be free. He fought for our nation so we can sit here today you and me!

He fought in many fights including for better rights.

After the war he wasn’t given honor, he wasn’t given a pay he married a woman who led him astray

He soon was divorced and divorced he would stay for the rest of his life he didn’t receive pay

He tried to get work as a chairmaking man but he didn’t get work even though he was good with his hands
