Yelm Cinemas

Yelm Cinemas

by Lexi Whitehead

It’s the only movie theater in town

In the back of Prairie Park

Across the full lot from the library and Casa Mia

Walk in the door there’s many unorganized tables to the left

Then a long concession stand right in front of you

And on the far right a small arcade

It’s a small theater

Sometimes crowded as a Target on Black Friday

Sometimes empty like a classroom in the summer

There’s a long hall beyond the ticket stand

Doors leading the the six theaters

And elementary school artwork hanging on the wall

Every weekend there’s a large group of middle schoolers

Just like a pack of wolves

They make memories good and bad that they’ll remember forever

Tears of happiness and tears of sadness slide down the faces of

People who love and hope

All at the only movie theater in town
